The Sussex Professional Golfers Association (SPGU) Pro-Am tournament will take place on Thursday 26th October 2017 at Brighton & Hove Golf Club.
The sold-out event sponsored by QED Property, is entering its third year and is hosted by the oldest club in Sussex. 18 professionals from across the county will compete for a £1500 professional prize fund, as well as the coveted team prizes, with teams selecting the best two from four scores across the 18-hole competition.
QED is delighted to announce that Peter Tarver-Jones, European Challenge Tour member, is in the field. Fresh of his recent triumph at the first stage of European Tour qualifying school at Frilford Heath, Peter is sure to be pushing the field all the way for the professional prize and clearly the one to beat.
Ross Gilbert, managing director of QED said “Given QED’s ongoing work in golf with the R&A, my personal involvement with Brighton & Hove Golf Club Management Committee and our mutual alignment to sustainability it is a great pleasure for QED to be headline sponsor of the SPGU Pro-Am. Its great opportunity to see Peter play – who grew up across the road from me as a kid so I just hope he does not beat me by too many! We are looking forward to him continuing to do great things in the Professional Ranks and get his full European Tour Card.”
Talking about the Pro-Am, Peter Tarver-Jones said “I grew up as a junior with Ross Gilbert, Andrew Tolman and Rob Francis as top players to look up to at Worthing Golf Club, so it'll be great to play with them again and seeing if perhaps they still knock it past me. I’m also looking forward to playing Brighton & Hove again too, it has been way over a decade since I last played there. I have second stage of European Tour school the following week so it should be great prep for me.”
