This £250m boost to Central Brighton has regenerated the old goods yard – a 15 acre site vacant for over 30 years – adjacent to the Brighton railway station, creating a vibrant virtually car free urban quarter.

Starting in 1998, QED managed the entire development process of this RICS award winning urban regeneration scheme on behalf of Sainsbury’s Supermarkets. QED negotiated the initial acquisition of the site, overseeing the design and planning stages and liaising with local stakeholders and other agencies with involvement in this multi-faceted project.

The innovative development combines contemporary design and sustainable building practice. The pedestrian takes priority over the car wherever possible and the successful City Car Club helps reduce traffic congestion and pollution.
